Detroit landlords can apply for repair rebate

Landlord Rebate
 
The landlord rebate aspect of this program provides a $750 per-unit rebate to eligible landlords who successfully obtain a rental unit Certificate of Compliance (CoC) from the City of Detroit's Buildings, Safety Engineering, and Environmental Department (BSEED) on or after November 1, 2023. Landlords interested in applying for landlord rebate must meet all eligibility requirements below.
Landlord Rebate Eligibility 
Certificate of Compliance
Landlords seeking a rebate for their units must have been awarded a rental property CoC from BSEED on or after November 1, 2023. All units must have CoCs.

Property Taxes
Rental property must be current with City of Detroit property taxes. Properties that are current current on a stipulated agreement payment plan are also eligible.

 
Property Type
Single-family and multi-family property types are eligible for a landlord rebate.
Limit of Ten Rebates
Landlord may not receive a rebate for more than 10 units that they have any ownership in (in full or in part).
 
Owner Occupied Units
Owner occupied units are not eligible for a landlord rebate.
 
Other Program Requirements
Landlords cannot participate in both the rental repair and landlord rebate aspects of the Detroit Duplex Repair Program.
